Watercolor references will be chosen from photographs taken during the artist’s recent travels to China, Korea, and Japan. For this workshop, participants should be familiar with the basics of drawing, watercolor painting, mixing colors, and gray scale. The use of good-quality watercolor supplies is recommended.

Artist Bio:

Misuk Goltz grew up in South Korea and studied art history and psychology. She also studied Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling at Wright State University in Ohio and began to work with mentally challenged people and their families as an outpatient psychiatric counselor at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Since she retired in 2007, she has spent much of her time painting, and watercolor painting has become her passion. She is inspired by all types of subjects but people inspire her the most. For her, each individual is unique and intriguing; capturing the attitude and expression of people on a piece of watercolor paper, in the way shes understand them, always excites her.

Misuk has studied with many nationally known artists over the last few years. She received a signature membership from the Ohio Watercolor Society in 2010 and has had her paintings accepted at the National Watercolor Society International and Members' Juried Shows. She is currently a member of the California Watercolor Association and presents watercolor workshops and classes.
